Multi-feature smart phones – boon or bane ?

Smartphones !! What came to your mind when you heard the term ” Smart Phones ” for the first time? Like other people, you also thought that Human beings are the only creatures on this planet who can be smart but how can a cellphone that we used only for calling and messaging purposes can turn out to be a “smartphone”? Well, this happened in reality due to the adoption of modern technology and innovations which led the customer to buy and use smartphones. The Indian market launched the first smartphone in June 2009. The first smartphone was introduced in the Indian market by HTC, a Taiwan-based handset manufacturer. At that time the device was priced around Rupees 30, 000.

Rupees 30,000 !! Yes, you heard right. It was costly as it was newly introduced in the market and it was not easy for the manufacturers to understand the demand and supply mechanism. But as time passed, the demand for smartphones increased and it also evolved owing to the change in taste and preferences of the consumers. Today, standing in the year 2021, we can see the impact of smartphones in our lives. Especially, the COVID-19 pandemic hit the life of each and every human being, and thus it has changed the way of living. Nowadays, most of the activities and functions are being done in online modes and most people are now relying on online shopping. Thus, a multi-featured smartphone is the need of the hour.
